Fine Dining – Andiamo Steakhouse at “The D”
Blonde4ever Shares Her Meal at Andiamo Steakhouse
I don’t often frequent high-end restaurants when on a solo trip, but The D Hotel Casino had been kind enough to give me a $50 food comp. Since my trip was almost over, I decided to cash it in at Andiamo’s Steakhouse. Located on the second floor of The D along Downtown’s Fremont Street, this hidden gem is easy to miss if you aren’t careful. I chose to go as soon as they opened at 5 pm, as I was attending an early show that night.
They seated me at a table for two on the far wall. The room is attractive, not stunning but elegant and relaxing. I spent a good deal of time staring up at the sparkly gold ceiling, but then I am easily distracted by shiny things. I understand it can get quite noisy when it is busy but when I was there it was very quiet.
After making my selections from the menu, I was served an assortment of bread, accompanied by a dish of spread they called caponata sauce. It’s an assortment of roasted vegetables in oil. It was very tasty…and I probably ate more of it than I should.
Next, I ordered the Chopped Salad ($10). It is mixed greens, tomatoes, bacon, egg, and red onion with a garlic-parmesan dressing. I have had this before, so I knew it was something I would enjoy. You can also start your meal with a Wedge Salad ($9), Composed Beet Salad ($10), Caesar for two or more (prepared table-side, $11 per person), and various other salads, appetizers, and soups.
As you might expect from a traditional steakhouse, there are various beef, chicken, and seafood choices as your main course. I selected Lobster Risotto ($35) for my entree. This is made of creamy arborio rice, Canadian lobster meat, tender asparagus, black truffles, and Parmigiano-Reggiano. It was very rich and delicious. My only disappointment was that there wasn’t more lobster.
I had no room for dessert after that rich meal, even though the dessert cart looked appealing. There’s also an extensive wine list, naturally, which can be viewed along with the full menu by visiting the Andiamo webpage.
The service at Andiamo was impeccable. I’m angry with myself for not remembering my waiter’s name. He seemed to go out of his way to spend time at my table and tell me a few stories, likely because I was alone. I appreciated the extra attention.
If you are looking for a great meal…and a classic old-school experience…I highly recommend Andiamo Italian Steakhouse. The restaurant is open from 5 pm until 11 pm nightly. Reservations can be placed by phoning 702.388.2220.

Absolutely love this place…the meatball and caeser salad are absolutely amazing…if I am downtown this is my go to place.
I agree! Thanks for your comments!
Thank you for another great review. I was wondering how the place held up. Going to Vegas with a few guys this fall and trying to keep them interested in staying around the more swanky vibe of downtown!
Looks so yummy! The risotto looked dreamy but I probably would have been full after the bread and salad. Big portions.
Thanks for your comments guys. This is a place I will return to for sure.
Great review…I’ve had this on my “might try” list for a while and this may have tipped the balance.
Thanks Kelly! Try it, you’ll like it! ;)
