King David Hotel Las Vegas

King David Hotel High Rise Proposed Near Strip

A bold venture is on the horizon near the iconic Las Vegas Strip, the proposed King David Hotel, with plans unveiled for a high-rise hotel aimed at catering specifically to the Jewish community. Anytime someone aims at a property catering only to a certain clientele, we remember Lucky Dragon. Might as well call this Lucky Dreidel. As detailed in documents submitted to Clark County, it is slated to grace the landscape at 3601 Vegas Plaza Dr., strategically positioned just north of The Mirage and west of Treasure Island, occupying the current site of the Villa De Flores Apartments.

Here’s the TLDR video:

Envisioned as a towering presence in the city’s skyline, the King David Hotel is proposed to soar an impressive 46 stories high, boasting a total of 486 rooms. Beyond its sheer stature, the hotel is set to offer a comprehensive array of amenities tailored to meet the needs and preferences of its target demographic. Among its standout features are a synagogue, multiple restaurants including kosher options, a luxurious day spa, a banquet facility, and expansive convention facilities/exposition halls.

Integral to the project’s design is its parking infrastructure, seamlessly integrated into the base of the resort. Plans call for a total of twelve levels of parking, with five subterranean levels and seven above-ground levels, ensuring ample accommodation for guests and visitors alike.

In a letter justifying the project’s unique focus, attorneys representing the developer RK Vegas Circle LLC emphasized that the King David Hotel’s amenities are intricately aligned with the tenets and cultural practices of the Jewish faith. This commitment to cultural sensitivity extends to the inclusion of kosher dining options, ensuring that guests can observe their dietary requirements with ease.

However, the ambitious project has encountered hurdles in the form of waivers sought by RK Vegas Circle LLC. County staff members have expressed reservations regarding these requests, particularly citing concerns related to parking provisions and pedestrian traffic. In their recommendation, county staff highlighted the potential strain on resources posed by the proposed waivers, cautioning against overbuilding and urging a balanced approach to development.

As deliberations continue, the King David Hotel stands as a testament to the evolving landscape of hospitality in Las Vegas, poised to offer a distinctive and culturally enriching experience to its discerning clientele.
