“Solo Strips” – One Night Of Wild Erotica For Charity

If you’ve been following my series of articles on pop-up shows, you know that they are rare opportunities to see your favorite Vegas performers in acts of their own creation. And as is the nature for entertainers of Sin City, these artistic expressions tend to lean towards the outrageous and bawdy. The next special event, known as Broadway Bares: Solo Strips, pushes those qualities to the max.

Pop-up shows are traditionally unique, one-time-only affairs which sometimes takes place on an irregular or annual basis. 2015 will see the sixth go-round for Solo Strips, which is once again being produced/directed by our favorite Le Reve performer, Ryan Lyons (you may remember him from a profile we did a few weeks back). Solo Strips is an offshoot of the long-running Broadway Bares series, created by Kinky Boots choreographer/director Jerry Mitchell back in 1992.

The Broadway Bares shows began as a means to raise much-needed funds for people living with HIV/Aids, with proceeds benefitting the charity Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. Each year, Broadway Bares has grown larger, spreading its reach westward in 2010 for Broadway Bares Las Vegas. The Nevada division benefits AFAN – Aid for AIDS of Nevada as well as BCEFA. Did you get all that?

While Broadway Bares offers large-scale production with a hefty cast of hard-bodies, Solo Strips is a more intimate affair. Yes, up-close-and-personal T&A…of both genders and for all sexual orientations. The late-night setting lends itself to outrageousness, as I witnessed last year when attending the event at Cosmopolitan‘s Rose.Rabbit.Lie (see my video above for a taste).

This year, Solo Strips will be held at the Absinthe tent outside of Caesars Palace. That particular venue recently hosted the Melody Sweets fundraiser “Coney Island – Burlesque at the Beach”, the vaudeville variety show that was featured in our very first VegasBright article.

2029

The line-up for 2015’s Solo Strips is nothing short of stellar, with talent from many well-known and long-running Strip (and stripper) shows. You’ll see Lisa Marie from Stratosphere’s Pin Up, studly Le Reve dancer Alexander Stabler, Amy Ryerson of Rock of Ages, Zombie Burlesque performers Aaron Lucey and Brittni Trippi, reigning “Queen of Burlesque” LouLou D’Vil, performers from Zumanity, 50 Shades – The Parody, Criss Angel BeLIEve, Peepshow, Beatles LOVE, Sexxy and many more.

For those who miss Fremont Street’s “DJ Lady GoGo”, you can see her real persona Alexandria Halbauer take it all off, too.

VegasBright friend Alberto del Campo, who first tipped us off about Downtown’s “Okay, Okay” variety show, will be teaming once more with fellow acrobat David Underwood for their hysterical strongman act “Golden Shower“.  This cringe-inducing comedy routine graphically answers the never-asked question “What happens when a balancing routine suddenly derails and turns erotic?”. Their skit alone is worth the price of admission.

Speaking of admission prices, advance tickets are still available for only $20 general admission. Advance VIP tickets are $40, which include priority seating and a poster signed by the cast. If any tickets are still available the night of the show, they will be priced at $25. Remember that this is a charity fundraising event. Tipping is welcomed and encouraged, and it all goes to AFAN/BCEFA.

Broadway Bares: Solo Strips takes place this coming Monday the 28th inside the Absinthe tent. Doors open at 11pm and showtime is midnight. Advance tickets are available for order by clicking here.
