Light Shows: LV Hard Rock Guitar Tower Will Dazzle
Mirage Volcano’s Replacement Will Still Be a Spectacle.
I get it, you’re probably going to miss the Mirage Volcano when it’s gone. I’ll miss it too, it was a staple. The kind of staple that warms one up on a cold winter’s night, or to rock out to the rhythmic sounds of Mickey Heart while fire and water collide. However with Seminole’s announcement that the Mirage volcano is going away, to be replaced by a Hard Rock Guitar Tower…well…many folks were not thrilled. However, petition or not, Hard Rock is gonna Hard Rock.
I wasn’t originally thrilled about the news either, but I resigned myself to the fact that it is out of my control. Good news though, I recently learned what a Hard Rock Guitar Tower can do. It won’t just be a guitar-shaped hotel tower sitting strip side, it will be a guitar-shaped hotel tower that does light shows.
If we are to learn anything from Hard Rock’s guitar towers in Hollywood and Florida, then it is safe to say the one in Vegas will indeed be Vegas-spectacle-worthy.
This video shows one of the Hard Rock Guitar Tower light shows at the Hollywood location:
It is a relief knowing the Volcano’s replacement will actually be “about something”. It is my opinion that fire shooting out on top of the guitar would be a nice touch, but I doubt the folks at Seminole feel that way.
Nonetheless, it is good to know that one spectacle is being replaced with another, as opposed to being replaced with a CVS or Starbucks, so there’s that. There isn’t yet an official date to quench the firey flames of the volcano just yet, so be sure to give it a visit because you never know if it may be your last chance to see it erupt.
Per the Mirage Volcano website, the current eruption schedule is Monday through Sunday at 7pm, 8pm, 9pm 10pm and 11pm – unless there are high winds.
