Resorts World: No Such Plans for Water Park

Per Resorts World PR: “No such plans in place” for Water Park.

A rumor has been circulating on Vegas Twitter since a popular Vegas Vlogger and resident Jacob Orth released a video (below) saying he was told by pool staff at Resorts World that they are building a water park. This would be awesome, considering other Resorts World properties have water parks. Below is Jacob Orth’s video.

Also when you consider that a water park was part of the original construction plans for Resorts World, I can see why everyone (myself included) was excited at this prospect….however, there are “no such plans” for a water park at Resorts World Las Vegas.

I reached out to the Public Relations team at Resorts World asking about the water park and I was told in an email from one of the PR reps:

“No such plans are in place, but we look forward to sharing information on new developments in the future.”

One thing that is obvious: something is being developed there. Per this video released on Twitter by Jacob Orth. You can see the activity of bulldozers, dirt being pushed around, work being done.

I replied to the PR rep asking “what is being built there?” citing the findings above and was told:

“We have not yet announced what is to come in that space, but correct, no such plans are in place for a water park.”

This isn’t a “no comment” or anything to that effect, “no such plans” is pretty straightforward.

One thing is for sure….something “is to come in that space” per the PR rep. So if it isn’t a water park, then what? A lazy river? A wave pool? Mini golf?

I spoke to another Vegas Vlogger, CinamonGirl, a friend of mine, who back in September 2021 was shown a concept drawing of a wave pool that would be “only for hotel guests, and bigger than Mandalay Bay’s wave pool”. This lines up with what other folks on Twitter say they were told by pool staff, and also further illustrates that pool staff are excited about a water-based project…but again, it is just pool staff hearsay until an announcement is made.

I reached back to my PR contact about the wave pool theory and the reply was:

I have no information to share on the plans at this time.

And with that, we’re gonna leave them alone. Unfortunately, rumors like this happen amongst staff members who serve the public, and then those rumors amongst staff get passed on to the public, the public believes the rumor to be scoop and put it all over Twitter and vlogs. This is why we’ve learned to steer clear of rumors here at VBN, it is our experience that sometimes the juicy scoop we get simply is nothing more than hearsay, heard it from a friend who’s a bartender kind of stuff.

Nothing against bartenders, be sure to tip them. I tip them $5 a drink, even if it’s water.

Vegas Twitter was all a flutter, people getting excited, people perpetuating it further….and of those accounts and outlets with big followings, all it took was some guy to reach out to PR. We’re that guy.

Here’s our video on our VBN youtube channel:

One thing is evident, something is happening there. What that is, remains to be disclosed. What do you think it is? What are you hoping it will be? Leave us a comment and let us know.
