Vegas is hot, in all senses of the word. But the literal heat, the blaze of lights on the Strip, the, well, burning minds working the slots and tables in the casinos–sometimes my friends and I need cool relief.
That’s why my Vegas Must is a trip to Frankie’s Tiki Room. I dig the Polynesian decor, surfing movies on the TV, and the beach tunes on the sound system. It’s Frankie’s drinks, of course, that I mainly come for. The Bearded Clam! The Tiki Bandit! The Three Rum Scum! Who knew there were so many kinds of rum and so many inventive ways a bartender could mix them?
The mixologists at Frankie’s are friendly, the drink recipes are original, the customers are happy…what more could anyone want from a lounge? Frankie’s is off-Strip but not far, and it’s well worth a cab ride. My friends and I will be there next week, in fact, living out our Vegas and Tiki fantasies. And we’ll be there again, and again.
After all, there’s a long, delicious drink menu to work through!
Frankie’s Tiki Room is located at 1712 W. Charleston Boulevard. It is open 24 hours.
