  1. Fascinating! My first trip to Vegas was in 1996 and I didn’t return until 2007 so this pretty much parallels my early experience.

  2. My first trip was 2002 so I missed the awful lion at MGM Grand. I cringed when they showed the Fontainebleau under construction….what might have been.
    Fun video, thanks for posting.

  3. My first trip was in 1996 also. At that time the Stratosphere, NY NY, and Monte Carlo were all in the latter stages of construction. When I went back the following year all three had recently opened. Within only about 4 or 5 years after that first trip the Bellagio, Venetian, Paris, and Mandalay Bay had opened. I wish I had a digital camera back then to capture Vegas as it was quickly transforming into what it is today. I remember there used to be a web site that closely tracked the construction progress on all of the new resorts being constructed at the time, complete with pictures showing each stage of construction.

  4. The voice and the music sounds so 80’s though. Crazy they mentinoed Echelon and Fountainbleu
