Biggest Vegas Surprises of 2015

Derek Stevens plans for the Las Vegas Club building. Nothing concrete has been announced, but just the fact that Stevens is public about the good and bad in the property, and that he is fully exploring his options is extraordinary in this time of PR blather. Most exciting is the fact that the new tower can go up another 20 stories (pending FAA clearance) which would create new room product while the tearing down the old hotel tower would allow for additional resort space.

The announcement of Jubilee’s closing. Another iconic show and the best representation of what a showgirl is, set to close in Las Vegas.
– CATHY VO

The Las Vegas Club being bought by the Stevens. (I guess I wasn’t that surprised.) Can’t wait to see what they do with it.
 BLONDE4EVER

SLS hasn’t closed yet, self-explained.

Clarion went “BOOM”—but left the elevator shaft standing…..D’oh!
– GREG C

Vegas Bright rising from the ashes of the abruptly shuttered Vegas Chatter. This site has continued the legacy of VC and recaptured the flavor of a staple for Vegas visitors. I’m proud to be on board, grateful that our founder was inspired to make it happen, and wish Vegas Bright a long, healthy life.
– SAMMASSEUR

The W Hotel to take up a tower of SLS. Totally didn’t see that coming!
– MICHAEL MOVESTRO
