BurGR

BurGR Was Worth the Wait

After a three-year wait, Matty ICE finally visits BurGR…

I love a good burger, and I don’t want to step on Movestro’s toes as our burger reviewer-in-chief but after going to Gordon Ramsey’s BurGR I HAD to write up a review. My girlfriend and I were in Nevada for a wedding at Lake Las Vegas (gorgeous change of pace by the way), and as luck would have it our hotel had a shuttle to the strip so we took a trip down for the night to take in some of the sights and specifically eat at BurGR.

We have both wanted to eat here for quite a while (3 years to be exact). Every time we’ve gone to Planet Hollywood to try out BurGR it’s been as a large group and we get hit with a wait time of 2 hours plus, so it’s never worked out…until now. We got in around 6:30 pm on Saturday and I was stunned that the line was only 15 people deep. We grabbed a spot and got to see the menu on a cool touch screen monitor they have up on the wall that entertained us while we waited.

After waiting for about 20 minutes we got to sit down and dive into the menu, the server also gave us an iPad that had a complete drink list including their many beers (I was impressed), wines & signature drinks. I settled on an Evocation Saison from CraftHaus Brewery out in Henderson (Drink Local!) that was crisp and refreshing.

When it came to the burgers, I went with the Truffle Burger, which was very savory with the truffle cheese and truffle Crème Fraiche.

Miss Ice went with the Euro Burger that included goat cheese, truffle aioli, and arugula.

We decided to split the sweet potato fries, which were definitely large enough for at least two people. The food was amazing! The burgers were cooked to a perfect medium and every bite had an explosion of flavor for both of us. The Fries came with a great honey-jalapeño mayo that added a little bit of zesty bite to the fries without overpowering their flavor. The food was great from the first bite to the last. Although we didn’t order one, the shakes they kept bringing out of the kitchen looked amazing and are definitely on my list to try next time we’re in town.

Overall the service and atmosphere were great, the prices were reasonable for a celebrity chef restaurant (truffle burger was the most expensive item coming in at $21), and the food was delicious. I recommend that burger lovers everywhere go and check out BugGR next time you’re at Planet Hollywood, you won’t be disappointed.

  1. I’ve always wanted to try this place, too, but encountered the same lines you have and ended up at the Earl of Sandwich instead.

Hopefully I’ll be able to catch an off period with short lines when I’m there in a few weeks.

    1. What may be a new feature is that if there is a line (or you have a group of 3 or more) they can take down your name and text you when the table is ready so you’re free to explore a little while you wait

  2. Friends and I always do Gordon Burger once per trip. Burger is consistently good for everyone each time; pricing is pretty fair as well.

TIP******** Put your name in early (party larger than 4 expect a hour wait or longer on Friday and Saturday) then go gamble hit the bars or go shopping.

  3. Great review….big tip if you are Diamond Level Total Rewards card holder or higher tier:

    1) Undocumented short cut…go directly to the check in desk and show your Diamond Card. You will be asked what seating you’d like counter or table or booth. Wait with “Group” people sitting milling around just outside of entrance…yes ignore the droves of people glaring at you in the normal line. Glare back at the masses, you spent silly amounts of money to have that diamond card unless you have a very lucky wife (yup it’s her card not mine).
    2) This place qualifies as a place to redeem your Annual Diamond Dinner Voucher but it is hard to get to the $100 voucher limit, you can get the desserts to go and it will get you close. Just remember the desserts are really rich including the shakes.
    3) Must try the Onion Rings!!!! I can see when on a date or romantic dinner you really don’t want to kill the mood but you know these things are almost as good as sex…use the dipping sauce it is excellent as well. Especially if in the first 5 minutes of the date you are looking for an out…might as well enjoy breathing heavy after eating sublime onion rings to kill any doubt this ain’t goin nowhere.

  4. Great review! It’s a great burger and I get the 3 different sauces for the fries. If I’m staying at PH on a solo trip, I’ll call down and order something to go. I’ll take my time getting there, stopping to play a little video poker. Then I’ll get my food and enjoy it in my room.
