EVOLVE Vegas NYE Party Returns To Tropicana
New Year’s Eve is approaching like a bullet train, and if you plan on spending it in Sin City, now’s the time to lock in those room rates and plane tickets. And it wouldn’t be a bad idea to choose where you want to be when the clock strikes twelve.
The options for New Year’s Eve are near-limitless…bars, nightclubs, parties, fireworks displays, and an adult’s-only street party on Fremont Street. That is, unless you’re part of the LGBTQ community and want to welcome midnight with your peers. Until recently, that usually meant just another night at the handful of familiar gay bars around town.
Then EVOLVE Vegas NYE came along last year. The newly-launched event brought visitors from six continents to Las Vegas. It offered a varied collection of shows, parties and social gatherings. The highlight was, of course, the New Year’s Eve countdown party held inside Tropicana Hotel Casino‘s Havana Room.
Over 1,100 guests–singles, couples and diverse groups of friends–rang in 2015 in gorgeous style. It was ranked one of the top six New Year’s Eve celebrations by OutTraveler magazine.
This year, the EVOLVE Vegas NYE has been streamlined, making the best event bigger and even better. Once again taking place inside Havana Room, EVOLVE will be hosted by Zumanity emcee, the “Mistress of Sensuality”, Edie Entertainer. The line-up of entertainment for the evening has yet to be announced, but will no doubt be dazzling.
Last year’s event had aerial performers, dancers, singers, celebrity DJ’s, wedding ceremonies and much more. Once again, guests will have access to the outdoor pool deck to view fireworks displays at the stroke of midnight. And, the party will continue until the wee hours of the morning.
EVOLVE Vegas NYE is the brainchild of Mya Reyes, President of the Las Vegas Gay Visitors Bureau. Regarding last year’s launch, she said “The attendance was higher than anticipated, and we’re growing this year’s party accordingly. I can promise that this will be an even more extravagant and memorable year.”
Advance tickets for EVOLVE Vegas NYE are available online for $99 (general admission) and $149 for VIP passes, which include a 2-hour open bar at the VIP Cocktail Reception, VIP seating, dedicated bar, special VIP performances and a Meet-and-Greet with performers.
Host hotel Tropicana has a history of rolling out the rainbow carpet to gay guests. Trop has been the home base for Gay Days and Xposed!, a weekly LGBTQ pool party. They even have a dedicated web page tailored specifically to the needs and interests of their gay guests. Rooms for New Year’s Eve were still available at the time of this writing.
Insider tip: the Las Vegas Strip is closed to vehicular traffic on New Year’s Eve, and surrounding streets are heavily congested. We recommend using the Las Vegas Monorail to get to and from EVOLVE, using the MGM Grand Station and pedestrian overpass to Tropicana Hotel.
