Introducing New Vegas Bright Author Kenzie Marie

Welcome to VegasBright, Kenzie Marie

Las Vegas and I have a long intimate relationship. This town first became my playground about 30 years ago when I wasn’t anywhere near legal. My parents brought us here quite often while we were growing up. They introduced us to “gaming” on the midway in Circus Circus, we played at Wet’n’Wild when it was still open on the strip, and explored Fremont street. I laid eyes on things most 10-year-olds will never see. I was here when they were building the Mirage, stayed at MGM when they had the theme park out back, and came out for my first New Years in 2001. I was finally legal and could enjoy a little more of Las Vegas.

Around 2005 I discovered a little game called No Limit Texas Hold’em poker. I played my first live game at The Plaza on Fremont Street, and in 2006 played in my first WSOP event. In 2007 I got married at the Venetian. My love for poker and relationship with Vegas has stood the test of time, unfortunately, my marriage did not. In 2014 I made it official and moved myself, two suitcases, and 8 boxes to Las Vegas!

Today I work on the Las Vegas strip and my commute is just a ten-minute walk. I love being so close to one of the most sought-after tourist destinations in the world. I am just minutes from some of the best restaurants, world-class shows, a steady stream of entertainers from every genre, and I get to rub elbows with visitors from all over the world. Did I mention I LOVE this town?

I am on the Las Vegas strip almost every day. When I am not working, I can be found strolling through the hotels and the miles of extravagant malls. I get a first-hand look at the seasonal changes taking place at the Bellagio Conservatory or in the waterfall atrium at the Venetian. I witness the Las Vegas Strip’s continuous facelift with the construction projects taking place at the Wynn or in front of Caesars Palace. There is always something new to see!

In addition to the sights, there is the food. Las Vegas is home to top-notch restaurants and chefs. Eating in Vegas has me very spoiled and I have become a bit of a foodie snob. I like fresh, high-quality food, delivered with exceptional customer service. I will share with you some my favorites hot spots, and take you along as I try out new restaurants, new foods, and stretch my ever-growing palette.

Las Vegas also has great entertainment, shows, and other activities. Down on Fremont street, you can spend an entire afternoon people watching and taking in the street performers. In the evenings there are always a variety of concerts and live shows. I even sometimes head over to the convention center to see what’s going on there. This town has a little bit of everything.

There is so much to do and see here in Las Vegas both on and off the strip. I am looking forward to the opportunity to share my experiences with you and hopefully get you excited about this amazing city.

  1. Cheers Kenzie! Looking forward to your posts. I am a (way too) frequent visitor to Vegas Bright.
Great photos. In all my trips since 2001, I have never stepped foot in Circus Circus. I can still remember when that gawdy H&M store was the FAO Schwartz store and the giant wooden horse was there.

  2. Awesome! Looking forward to your posts – I’m excited already! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Las Vegas!

  3. 2 suitcases and 8 boxes. WOW! I would need (2) 53 foot trailers.
I am glad that you still have all of that passion for Vegas.

  4. Welcome to the team! Looking forward to reading your contributions, especially around the areas of poker!
