Surrender Nightclub Surrendering

Sh*t You May Have Missed… Like Surrender Nightclub Surrendering

Hey all, BigAZMarty here with this week’s news about our favorite place, Las Vegas!

Life is Beautiful Festival ran its 3-night gamut of music and festival-ling.  LVRJ has some info and photo’s for day-1 here, day-2 here and day-3 here.

The iHeartRadio Festival also ran through its playlist, Kats via LVRJ has the report and photos day-1 here and day-2 here.  Kats via LVRJ even had coverage of the acts that were at the iHeart Village here.  So with these two festivals, a major chunk of the music industry was well represented in Las Vegas for live performances. Whew… let them ear drums rest a bit now Las Vegas!

Want to see another Las Vegas homegrown band perform live in Las Vegas?  The Killers will be performing one night at The Pearl at The Palms, read Kats via LVRJ here.

Well you know the gambling expo is coming when new slot machines are put into play at major casinos.  This time the stars in the casinos are the stars, Penn and Teller slots will be at select Caesars Entertainment properties and showgirl Jennifer Romas’ slots will be at Westgate, read LVRJ via Robin here.

Very cool, JLo donating $1M in show proceeds to hurricane relief in Puerto Rico.  Read LVSun here.

Vital Vegas reports that Surrender Nightclub at Wynn’s Encore is closing for good, read here.  Hmmm, has the Oontz run its course?

MarC of EDGE Vegas has some good pre-reading on the G2E conference (referred to as the Gambling Expo) and what he will be on the lookout for, link to Covers here.

MarC of EDGE Vegas also has an article on the unintended consequence of corporate limiting of free drinks for play, read the link to TravelZork here.

EATER Vegas has more updates on the PH Planet Dailies replacement, Cafe Hollywood here.  The hidden gem…. Gelato!

For some reason I missed including this in last weeks SYMHM; if you are an Arts District fan you will love the new plan and explanation of why Main Street and Commerce were made into one-way streets, read DTLV here.

Stiffs and Georges reviews the OMGM ad that ran during the Emmy’s, it’s not good. Read here.  MGM, The Cosmopolitan you are not (at least until you purchase it).

More demolition porn from Vital Vegas. Scott shares video of Bronto tearing into the short tower here.

Vital Vegas also has a fairly extensive look at all the newness that is in The Cromwell: Eatwell, new race and sportsbook, single zero roulette and VP poker bar upgrades, read and see here.  While I think that Race and sportsbook will liven up that back corner near The Bank, it also took out the better VP machines. Let’s hope they got moved somewhere easily accessible.  I like the menu of the Eatwell as well, that is something you can run down grab and take up to the room if you are sick of Giada room service.

More G2E stuff, Pac Man skill-based gaming is coming from Gamblit, read LVSun here. Do millennials even remember Pac Man?

Want to buy an MGM Resorts executive’s home? Bobby Baldwin’s home is up for sale for a cool $6M. If you add in remodel and original purchase price it’s a steal read LVRJ here.

Robin via LVRJ reports on the Miss Universe pageant that will be held at Planet Hollywood near the end of November, read here.  Scroll further and he also reports on the rumor that The Illusionists will be the “big’ show to occupy the former Jubilee Showroom.  Is Caesars positioning Bally’s to be their counter to MGM’s Circus Circus? Seems to be going that route….just replace all that dead space behind PH, Paris and Bally’s with an Amusement Park or Water Park and it’s a head to head competition.

EATER Vegas has the 23 Great Cheap eats in Las Vegas here.  Not sure how they missed Pink’s at PH but they did manage to include Pin-Up Pizza on the list.

That’s it for now…and now over to our Editor-in-Chief, LasVegasJunkie, for our stuff and more.

Gracias, BigAZMarty!
