Golden Gate Hotel Sets Reveal Date to August 25th
Date set for Golden Gate Expansion Reveal
It’s official folks! Golden Gate Hotel and Casino will be making its “soft-grand-reveal” of the new casino expansion on August 25. Taking over the former site of the La Bayou Casino; Golden Gate has added an additional twenty-five feet to its front façade, seamlessly blending into the original building that was constructed in 1906. The gaming expansion adds over 25% more slots to the casino floor, bringing the total number to just less than 500.
Golden Gate Hotel and Casino will be completely closed to guests for the five days leading up to the soft-grand-reveal (August 20-24). Although no official timetable has been set, Derek Stevens, one of two proprietors of Golden Gate, The D and the future 18 Fremont project told me, “Our best guess will be around 6 PM on Friday the 25th. This is definitely a soft opening.”

You better believe this writer has already made plans to be there for the grand reveal next month. Stay tuned for new photos and videos.

I (again) quote Ocean’s 13 – It’s a soft opening, to test the place before the grand opening.
It’s kind of like an out-of-town preview, only it’s in town.
Soft opening, grand opening. When they opened the Flamingo…
…one day it was closed, the next day it was open. End of story.
Can’t wait to see the place when I am in town in December.
