Resorts World Underground

Resorts World Underground (Sewage and Electrical) Construction Underway

Sewage and Electrical being installed as Resorts World underground construction continues.

Although there have been false reports of nothing happening or “whispers” of “giving up” at Resorts World (perhaps that person should stick to entertainment gossip), that simply isn’t the case. We here at Vegas Bright have a lot of street-cred when it comes to reporting on Las Vegas construction projects, see for yourself. Continuing in that tradition, our Eye in the Sky has been keeping track of things at the future resort site (as it isn’t exactly a resort yet).

Last we looked at Resorts World construction; electrical trucks were on site. Recently electrical and sewage pipes have been arriving on site in the masses, with work underway in the trenches of the property. They’ve also erected another staircase and an elevator shaft for construction purposes.

There’s definitely momentum on the construction site. Now, if Resorts World actually opens is another thing entirely, but I try to remain optimistic about new hotel/casino goodness on the part of the strip that could really use it. Maybe a little too optimistic at times, albeit.

When *coughs* If Resorts World opens, and after all its construction phases, it will have a 175,000-square-foot casino and four towers with a combined 6,583 rooms. For the opening, I’m not certain they are shooting for four towers, they may add on additional towers after opening as it might make sense to start on a smaller scale.

UPDATE: I was right. Resorts World expected opening 2020. 3,000 rooms. Two towers, staggered openings. https://www.reviewjournal.com/business/casinos-gaming/resorts-world-las-vegas-chooses-casino-veteran-as-president/

  1. “Now, if Resorts World actually opens is another thing entirely” – haha, my thoughts exactly. I hope it does. I’d hate to see another half built paper weight sitting vacant on the strip. Cheers Fontainebleau!

  2. .People gave up hope they say there no sign of resorts world construction at all and with these rumors about resorts world about to being dead i say this intell they give up then they will send a message about giveing up.

  3. Whenever possible I have tried to respond to doubts over the likelihood that Resorts World actually happens for a while now. Genting opened up a casino in my hometown a year or two ago… nothing like the proposals for RW (it was in the hundreds of millions, not billions) and if they open one here they will for sure do so in Vegas. I wouldn’t put my house on them completing RW but I am as confident as I can be that it will get done.

    1. Same here, they did a great job in Resorts World NY when I was living out in Queens.

  4. At this rate, Resorts World will never happen… if there isn’t any physical updates to the projects now, there will never be any in the near future. I’ve driven up and down Vegas Strip many times, just recently last week and still there is no visible physical updates. Yes it takes multimillions, hell billions of dollars to complete this project, but this project was proposed a few years ago (since 2015), since the death of the Stardust Hotel and Casino (which in my opinion would still be a big draw for Vegas, if it stayed up and in-operation). This Resorts World may end up becoming like the failed venture of Karl Icahn’s Fountainebleu (a fellow project to the Resorts World, just north of the project’s property on the east side of the strip, just south past SLS Hotel and Casino of Sahara). Start on a project, then abandon the project during construction.

    1. I hear ya Christopher! You’re not gonna see the work they are doing from the car though. The LVRJ link at the bottom has the latest details. Cranes will be on site in three months.
