Trip Report: Blonde4ever’s Perfect Halloween 2016 Trip – Part 5
Blonde4ever shares Part 5 of her October 2016 Trip Report
Kodi and I laid in bed for quite some time on this Friday morning trying to muster the strength to face the day. We had to get packed up for our move from Bally’s to the Plaza. Changing hotels is always a pain, but I do it because A) I want comped rooms and B) every time you move to a new environment it is like a whole new trip.
We checked out of Bally’s and a forum friend picked us up and drove us to the Neon Museum where we did the noon tour. I had seen it once before but was a very long time ago so I enjoyed going through it again and seeing what was new. I highly recommend a visit there if you enjoy Vegas history and it is also an inexpensive break from the casino. The complete story of the Neon Museum tour is HERE.
When the tour was over our friend dropped us off at the Plaza. I was checked in quickly and was given the room location I had requested. I prefer the north tower because it is a shorter walk from the front doors to your room elevator.
We examined our room and unpacked a little bit. Kodi intended to have the Main Street Station buffet for dinner with our friend, but I had different plans that night. I went downstairs to grab a bite to eat and to play for awhile. I sat down at a Buffalo Gold carousel and the man next to me hit for 16,000 dollars! Why wasn’t that MY machine???
I had never been near someone who won such a big jackpot so it was fun to see all the fuss that was made. I was trying to eavesdrop and I think the Plaza staff offered to change his room to a suite and to give him a comped meal at Oscar’s. Hopefully, someday this will happen to me!
A few minutes after all this excitement CEO Jonathan Jossel stopped by to say hello and bring me up to date on what was new around the Plaza. He invited me to Ocsar’s lounge for a drink later so I played for about two hours and then went upstairs to freshen up.
I went to Oscar’s Lounge for Happy Hour and had a “Rusty Nail” with Jonathan. He introduced me to a nice Canadian couple. We hit it off and found lots to chat about so I talked to them until 730 when they left. (Hi there, Karen and Ron!) I was supposed to be meeting the Editor of Vegas Bright, Michael Movestro at 8 pm in the same lounge so I figured there was no point in moving so I just stayed where I was. I was thrilled when a short while later not only did I get to meet Michael for the first time, but he also had Scott Roeben of Vital Vegas and Fremont Street Experience fame in tow.
I have met Scott multiple times and he is one of my favorite people to chat with about Vegas. We spent the next three hours just yapping about everything under the sun. It was so much fun talking with these two! I hated to see it come to an end. This night was definitely one of the highlights of my trip.
To be Continued next week.

How was your room at Bally’s? Did you ever post photos of that one?
We had a lovely room in the Jubilee Tower. I don’t think I did post any pictures of it but if you look at the ones on their website it looked just like that. We faced Drai’s again but the noise was not a problem.
Don’t brag up down town too much Bonnie, it will get too busy & prices will end up like the strip!…lol
I know….I need to shut up about how much I love it…lol.
Wow, Plaza offered a suite and dinner for just a $16,000 win? I was sitting behind a lady at LV Hilton who hit 2 million some years back. She was trying to phone her daughter and her hand was shaking as they gave her champagne. She needed it! Now I wish I’d stayed to hear what happened next.
I “think” that is what I heard. Maybe it will happen to us one day and we can verify that.
Boy, that’s some Las Vegas internet/blogging power there!!!
Thanks for reading Mervis!
