Surgery Happens, We’ll Be Back March-ish

Movestro Goes Under the Knife, We’ll Be Back March-ish

Hey, peeps!

Michael Movestro here. Well, long story short…I landed in the ER on February 15th. Apparently, I suffered what some refer to as a “Gallbladder Attack” which is something up until then; I had never heard of. Even the actual Medical term, cholecystitis isn’t something I’ve heard of, but, I’m not a doctor.

A Gallbladder attack has the same symptoms of a heart attack and is often mistaken for one by the afflicted. They put an EKG on me, ran an x-ray and did an ultrasound to determine it was not my heart. The pain was relentless; there was no position I could be in to get comfortable. It was a constant ongoing pain right in the middle of my upper abdomen that radiated through the chest and to my back. Breathing was difficult. They loaded me up with pain killer type things, which made me woozy and made me feel sick. Then, for a while, I felt no pain and felt drunk. My wife tells me I sang Ee-Yo-Eleven at one point.

The doctor came in and told me the ultrasound results. Evidently (thanks BigAzMarty for a new word I can use) I have a big gallstone, and as a result, my gallbladder needs to be removed. I thought about putting it off for a while, and then on Sunday (the 19th) as I was prepping for the podcast, it started up again. It caused me to pace around the house in utter pain reminding myself that although it feels like a heart attack, it isn’t, and it will pass at some point (anywhere from 15 mins to 24 hours).

That is no way to live.

I’m typing this out on the 22nd, and my surgery is on the 23rd, and this article will post on the 24th. Which means by the time you read this, I already had my surgery though I’m writing this prior.

I met with the surgeon (Tuesday the 21st), and we decided to fast-track this thing as it will only get worse. I’ll need just to chill and recover for some time after the surgery, which means I won’t be able to edit/post any articles until I’m back on my toes.

I’m hoping that by March 6th, we’ll be back to posting daily articles. It might be the 13th. I don’t want to promise a specific date as it’s a “take it day by day” situation.

So, for now, I need to take care of me, and then get back to taking care of Vegas Bright. So, let’s say March-ish.

No worries, this isn’t one of those “We’ll be back in a new location!” kind of things.

Thanks,

Michael Movestro

P.S. At this time I would like to call dibs on the restaurant name “Gallbladder Attack Grill.”
