BBmomo is for Views, Food and Booze in her “Vegas Musts”

Reader BBmomo shares her Vegas Musts…

So I literally just booked 4 Vegas trips from December to next August so this is the perfect time to list out my Vegas Musts. There are so many I don’t even know where to start.

My first Vegas Must is, at some point in the trip, to be at a place up high for a night time view of the Strip. I love the Vegas lights and that’s one of the reasons why I keep coming back. We’ve been up to the High Roller, Foundation Room, and the Eiffel Tower. Our most recent trip, we had a fountain view room at Cosmo on the 69th floor. We had our own balcony with an incredible view. We don’t usually spend much time in our room but this Cosmo trip we did. Sitting outside with a drink in hand taking in the view was amazing. It was electric and relaxing at the same time. I don’t know how I can top that on my future trips.

Another Vegas Must is going to Whisky Licker Bar at Binions, ordering A (yes one) drink and keeping the souvenir cup that says “Liquor in the front,” and “Poker in the rear.”

It is the perfect spot on Fremont Street to “people watch” while sipping on the massive drink. There is a stage right beside the patio so when there’s something going on, it’s like having VIP seats to the show.

Next up…. Casino Royale’s Dollar Michelob. I know I know, it’s definitely not the nicest casino on the strip but I love that casino. We have now made it a challenge that regardless of what hour or where we are going, every time we walk by Casino Royale, we must go inside for a dollar Michelob.

Food wise, I must have a slice of Aria’s Five50 Gotham pizza. It all started on the first trip when we had a MyVegas deal for a free slice and beer there. We tried their Gotham pizza and I instantly fell in love – It has to be the best pizza on this planet. You must also use a paper towel to soak up some of the oil from the pizza but that’s part of the ritual. Ever since that trip, we pretty much arrive in Vegas, drop our bags in the room and head over to Aria for a slice.

An odd little must, but every trip “we” (well more like I force him to) would go to Palazzo and take a picture in front of the chandeliers on the second floor located right beside Grimaldi’s Pizzeria. Not the most “Vegasy” image one would come to mind but when I think of Vegas, I sometimes see that white ottoman in front of the chandeliers.

“We must visit the Strat” and the reason why it’s in quotations is because we say that on every trip but have yet gone to Strat. It has now become our running joke. We have every intention to visit; it’s always on the to-do list but for some reason, we always skip it. So I guess this “Vegas must” is planning on going but skipping it. Maybe we’ll finally get to see it this coming trip in December.
