Breakfast with a View at Mon Ami Gabi
Blonde4ever takes in the outdoor views of Mon Ami Gabi
Whenever someone asks for restaurant suggestions for Vegas, one name always comes up; Mon Ami Gabi.
I have eaten there many times, and while I always enjoy my meal, I think people love it as much for its location and outdoor seating area as they do for its food. Be sure to make reservations or go early and prepare for a wait; it is a very popular place.
Mon Ami Gabi is universally considered to be one of the best spots to relax and watch the Bellagio fountains go off. Even if you are visiting for breakfast and the fountains haven’t started yet, their outdoor cafe is the perfect place for people watching. You cannot pay with your Total Rewards points, but you can go to the Total Rewards desk right across from Mon Ami Gabi, and they can issue you a voucher to be used in the restaurant.
My roommate and I decided to visit on a recent trip. We wanted to sit outside on the charming patio so we were given these vibrators (no, not that kind) that would buzz when our table was ready and told to wait near the entrance to the restaurant. Our wait time was short, and soon we were seated at a prime table by the railing. I find mornings and evenings to be the most pleasant times to visit because the patio can get very hot in the afternoon, even with those cute red umbrellas.
If you find the temperature unbearable outside you can always move to the indoor seating area. We both chose omelettes that day since it was still morning. I chose the spinach and goat cheese omelette for 13.95. Mon Ami Gabi has this heavenly date glazed bacon for $5.95. I had never heard of such a thing before, but since I love both dates and bacon, I decided to try it. Oh my goodness, I could make a meal out of that bacon alone.
My one complaint would be about the size of the coffee cups. They are small and shallow, and the coffee gets cold quickly when you are sitting outside. I would much prefer my coffee in a deep mug where it would stand a better chance of staying warm. My second complaint (ok, I lied) would be about the chairs; they are not particularly comfortable.
Mon Ami Gabi never disappoints; the service was perfect as always. I find myself wanting to linger, drink coffee and watch Las Vegas Blvd. all day but I know these tables are in demand and I shouldn’t tie one up for an extended period of time. I force myself to leave when my plate is empty.
Maybe that is why the chairs are less than wonderful; if they made them too comfortable no one would ever leave!
Mon Ami Gabi is open daily from 7 am to 11 pm located at Paris Las Vegas. More info via their website.

Have you seen the size of the coffee cups for a large Cafe Au Lait?

I put the spoon on the saucer for reference.
Strange! But again..too wide an opening, too much surface area. It would get cold very fast!
I feel it is the best coffee in LV. My coffee is always hot. I like the small cups because you finish it before it gets cold. The service is great. My coffee cup never gets 1/2 empty.
Maybe I just drink mine too slow. Thanks for reading.
Loved this review. Date-glazed bacon is now a must next trip.
Thanks Kelly!
Always wanted to try this place for lunch for dinner for steak and frites. I like that they have different type of fries.
Actually have have never tried their frites…try them and let us know how you like them.
I’ve passed that place so many times, and I always thought it was busy just for the central location and patio. Now that I know the food is worthy as well, I’m going to give it a shot next time!
That is great! Thanks for reading.
This is our favorite place to sit outside! I didn’t know about the date glazed bacon…..oh my!!
It is amazing!
