A Relaxing Visit to Bally’s Spa

Blonde4ever finds rejuvenation at Bally’s Spa…

For many years I was a Diamond level player in Caesars Total Rewards hierarchy. My income level dropped with retirement, and so did my Total Rewards status. Sometimes you don’t clue into all the privileges of that level until it is too late. I realized at the end of my tenure as Diamond that apparently a friend and I were entitled to use the Bally’s Spa facilities for free. I only wish I had realized this years ago.

While your free visit does not entitle you to any services, there are many things you can partake of to give yourself an economy/do-it-yourself spa day. My friend and I decided to try this on a recent trip. We headed for the spa around 8 am. We thought that was when it opened, but it seems that its hours are 6 am to 6 pm. They have separate areas for men and women; nothing is unisex. When you walk in the door to Bally’s Spa, you come to a reception desk where they check you in. The desk area had various and assorted nice smelling creams and lotions for sale. The staff gave us a quick tour of all the facilities and showed us where the lockers were. We were given plush terry robes, slippers, and locks. The spa is not what I would describe as fancy, but since I have never been to a spa in Vegas before I have nothing to compare it to. It seemed clean, and the staff were professional and accommodating.

We decided to try the steam room first. I have not been in a steam room since I was a young woman. I wasn’t really prepared for the intensity of the heat or the inability to see anything. I stumbled blindly over to a bench. It was billed as a “eucalyptus” steam room. My friend didn’t think it smelled eucalyptus-y enough. I was just concerned about breathing, period. I was having a hard time inhaling and feeling a little panicky. I forced myself to relax and breath deeply and eventually it got easier, but I was worried about the temperature and my high blood pressure, so I did not stay long in this area. The time I did spend there really opened up my nasal passages, though. The steam also opens your pores and lets the dirt be washed out. You wind up leaving your steam room experience with a rosy glow. Just outside of the steam room door is a bowl filled with damp washcloths on ice for you to refresh yourself with. Perhaps if I had grabbed one of those on my way into the steam room and placed it over my nose and mouth, I might have had an easier time adjusting to the steam.

After leaving the steam room, I didn’t want to move into another room that had extreme heat, so I took a pass on the sauna and went to the whirlpools instead. The women’s area at Bally’s has two pools at different temperatures. My friend chose the hotter pool, and I decided to use the one with a more moderate temperature. These whirlpools aren’t very big, so I was happy that the majority of the time we were in this area we were either alone or with one or two other people. I enjoyed the whirlpools more than the steam room. If you can’t afford a massage, having the jets shoot water on your sore spots is the next best thing.

After the whirlpools, we decided to shower. Being able to get ready simultaneously is great. I expected the showers to have body wash, shampoo, and conditioner and they did. I was not expecting all the additional products available for your use. I think some of the other spa patrons were amused at my exuberance as I exclaimed over every new thing. Mouthwash and deodorant and lotion…oh my! (I am easily pleased. What can I say?) After dressing we went out to a vanity area full of mirrors, counters and a multitude of hair dryers, curling irons and flat irons.

They also have hair gel and hair spray available in this area. We were able to style our hair and apply makeup side by side. As we left, we were offered complimentary fruit, water, and juices.

The regular fee for entrance to this spa is $22.00. As a Platinum Total Rewards player, I would be charged half of the regular fee if I choose to visit on my next trip. Being made to feel so relaxed and refreshed is certainly worth the small price. Pamper yourself on your next trip with a visit to Bally’s Spa.

  1. My only experience with spas are the Korean spas in my hometown, where everyone wanders around naked. Is this the case with Bally’s (since it’s not unisex), or are you expected to wear a swimsuit?

  2. From what I saw there Mandiferous, people did not have to be in swimsuits, but did wear their robe, until they entered the sauna, or whirlpool, when they slipped it off, and then on again before moving around the spa area.

  3. We have done a number of spas and couples massages over time. I never can get used to hanging around a bunch of guys with things hanging out. I figure I’m just a little conservative, I can’t even sleep naked. But, overall a spa is pretty relaxing with a massage. I also have learned that it is best to specify the gender of who gives the massage if you have a preference. With all the extras of grooming and pampering I have considered to try one of our 30 to 36 hour trips without getting a room and checking a small bag at the hotel and utilizing the spa only. I could totally do it, just don’t know about the wife?
