Winnerz: My “Vegas Musts”, Brit-style

Guest author “Winnerz” shares a winning list of “Vegas Musts”…

As a Brit with a special place in my heart for Vegas, I try and get here at least once a year. However, since I was paid off last year (and again this year), our visits are becoming less frequent.

I’ve just returned from this year’s vacation to Vegas. As it’s an 11-hour flight, us Brits tend to do the Vegas visits less often but for longer. And, we’ve just done fourteen nights!

Our Vegas musts are maybe not that different from others, but where we go may well be.

1. Bachi Burger – came across this place a few trips back, and if you’re not local, or don’t have a hire car, it’s a little out of the way.BUT their oxtail chili cheese fries are well worth the Uber fare alone. Their burgers are always worth trying, and they’re all different in so many ways. A word of warning, though: if you’re going to have the oxtail chili cheese fries AND a burger, best wear your “big boy” pants.

2. The Fountains at Bellagio – I don’t care how many times you’ve seen them, for us we have a sentimental reason for visiting, and it’s on our list.

3. Blueberry Hill Restaurants – again, you need a car. But the quality of the food, quantity, choice and value for money means we always have to visit.

4. Megabucks – Always got to have ten spins at $3.00, in whatever casino, once a day. You’ve got to dream, haven’t you?

5. One or more Big-name Concert or Show – this year we did Journey and The Doobie Brothers at Mandalay Bay. There’s something almost religious about 8,000 people singing “Don’t Stop Believing” together in harmony…..

  1. Great to hear from a fellow Brit for whom the 11 hour plane flight is a price worth paying for a couple of weeks in paradise! I’ve never heard of Blueberry Hill, but will try them next trip!

  2. There are a couple of ones we regularly use, there’s one on East Flamingo at Tamaris, our favourite, that’s open 24 hours, and another we’ve used is on South Decatur. Their skillets for breakfast are awesome.
