Milk Bar

Milk Bar Coming to the Cosmopolitan

From the metropolitan to the Cosmopolitan, Milk Bar bakes its way into Las Vegas…

The famed New York bakery known for their “Cereal Milk” shakes is opening at the Cosmopolitan later this year.

On the second level of The Cosmopolitan, (right next to the future Momofuku) Milk Bar will be serving up: cakes, shakes, truffles, cookies, pies, buns, and bread.

From Cosmopolitan’s Milk Bar website:

“Opening late 2016, Milk Bar will elevate The Cosmopolitan’s highly acclaimed, ever-changing Las Vegas culinary experience. Established by award-winning chef and owner Christina Tosi in 2008, Milk Bar focuses on putting a playful approachable spin on familiar home-style desserts and savory snacks using quality ingredients and locally sourced dairy.”

Aside from “Cereal Milk”, there are other trademarked creations as well: compost cookies, and, crack pie. Yes, crack pie. So many jokes come to mind depending on what crack refers to, right? Well, it isn’t what you think (whatever you thought it was).

Crack pie’s description is as follows: toasted oat crust with a gooey butter filling. See? Not what we thought.

The bakery features ice cream creations made with Lactaid during the summer, and their other locations offer baking classes. No word yet if this will be the case with the Las Vegas location. Milk Bar has six locations in New York, one in Toronto and one in Washington, DC.

Christina Tosi is the head chef and owner; she founded the Momofuku dessert programs before opening the first Milk Bar in 2008. She is an author of two books and is a judge on the series MasterChef.

Looking around the internet, ratings for the various Milk Bar locations range from 3 1/2 to 4/12 stars between Yelp, Trip Advisor, and Zomato.  For a look at the menu, and pictures of their other zany creations click here.
