Hate Mail from a “Professional” MindFreak Live Cast Member
Well, it looks like SOME Mindfreak Live performer doesn’t appreciate our unbiased review…
The recent review we published on MindFreak Live drew hate mail, not from a fan, or a reader, but from a “professional entertainer” in the cast.
As Chief Editor here, I try not to give naysayers a spotlight on our blog. Usually, I’ll reply back to the email and open a dialogue. Because of this, a couple of our haters soon became our fans. Diplomacy and professionalism (even though this is only a hobby) can go a long way. So when we get hate mail (or hate email in this case) from someone who says they are a professional in Vegas, well, then, why the unprofessional behavior?

Comment: It’s unfortunate that Sammasseur can’t respect or appreciate hard work and determination. I’m a professional entertainer in Criss Angels’ new show. I am a professional and have worked hard to get where I am today. I’ve been in numerous highly rated shows on the strip. The cast and crew worked extremely hard on this revival and the talent in the show is beyond words. Criss now has a show that is him of course still under cirque du soliel but none the less more of HIS MINDFREAK SHOW! My fiancé is a highly profiled performer in vegas and told me about Sammasseur. I am appalled at this article and can’t believe someone would stoop so low to judge every single ounce of our production. An opinion is one thing but this is outrageous. I am honored to be in MINDFREAK LIVE! Maybe Sammasseur is just jealous he’s not in or a part of the show or that Criss doesn’t know him.

This was sent to us using our email contact form; the “entertainer” used a fake email address. However, we did get the IP address, and it is for certain, a Las Vegas IP address.
It is interesting to note that attacking a critic for looking at details and publishing them is what got Criss Angel into trouble with Perez Hilton and Norm Clarke previously. He set a dangerous precedent and apparently a member of his cast continues the behavior. We doubt it was Criss, but apparently, it is one of the cast members.

Hard work and determination and the outcome of same can be mutually exclusive. I could work on playing piano for 12 hours a day for a year and still be terrible by professional standards. Just because I suck doesn’t mean I didn’t try.
I’m sure the person is a great performer, it’s more about how it’s unprofessional to attack a critic, than anything.
I can almost hear Criss Angel mashing the keys as he typed that message.
We doubt it was Criss, but that is a funny image.
This part made me laugh- “Maybe Sammasseur is just jealous he’s not in or a part of the show or that Criss doesn’t know him.”
All I can do when I read emails like this is laugh.
Why do people think they’re above criticism or critique just because they’ve allegedly been in numerous highly rated shows on the strip?
If as a reviewer you kiss that ass, you’re a great person and deserving of praise and accolades for your wonderful work and knowledge. If you don’t kiss the ass and call it like you see it, you’re unqualified to have an opinion? Of course, especially after your fiancé told you about Sammasseur.
People are funny.
All I got from that e-mail other than the writer is outwardly whiny when their feelings get a little hurt is that Sam is known by highly-profiled Vegas performers. Sounds like this blogging hobby is making someone locally famous! :D
