Wynn Fountain: The New Fountain Show in Town

The Wynn fountain show is cute and “totes adorbs”.

Some time ago, in the under-reported news, a new Wynn fountain show came to life in Las Vegas. I caught the fountain in action on my recent visit. Just outside the Wynn Esplanade is this new fountain with a dazzling array of colors and song. It wouldn’t be fair to compare it to the grandiose and majestic Bellagio fountains by any means. However, the new Wynn fountain is….cute. Like “little” kinda cute. Like you want to pinch its cheek, cute. Totes adorbs.

Unlike the Bellagio fountains, the Wynn fountain doesn’t take 15-minute breaks; it goes from one song right to the other. I’ve heard a song from Frank and Dean; I think “Be Our Guest” was in the playlist as well as “Consider Yourself” from the film “Oliver!” Wynn has another fountain show in Macau, it’s like the fountain show in Las Vegas but at a larger scale (still not Bellagio-sized). The one in place outside Wynn Las vegas reminds me of the center-ring of the Bellagio fountains, just on a smaller scale. I took a look at WET Design’s website, but I saw no listing for this new fountain as one of their projects. Though it does look like a WET Design installation, I couldn’t confirm it through their website.

For your viewing pleasure, here is an (admittedly shaky) video and some pics.

I wouldn’t go out of my way to see it again, but if you’re in the area you might as well go and check it out just because it’s a new Vegas fountain show.

  1. Hey, any chance to get some free street entertainment AND a cool mist on a hot summer Vegas eve, well that’s a win-win! With a couple of nice cocktails, I could be planted there for an hour.

  2. Most of the songs are showtunes from the Wynn show Showstoppers and sung by the cast. It’s an advertisement for the show, which is fine, and it is nice to stop and watch… But because it’s an advertisement it’s less of an attraction.
