Standoff at Gold Coast Hotel
Stolen vehicle suspect refused to leave said stolen vehicle, leads to standoff
Yesterday our tipster paperposter found himself in quite the bind, well, a tie-up. The traffic kind.
He was just outside of Gold Coast in what he sarcastically called “the most fun I’ve had while there.” Sometimes he’s in the right place at the right time, but yesterday not so much.
It all started at 11:56 AM when security at the Gold Coast Casino Hotel called the police due to a possible stolen vehicle on their property, with someone inside it. When police ordered the suspect to leave the vehicle, there was no response and a defense perimeter was set up. The public was kept away from the garage.
At about 2:25 the suspect surrendered without incident, and the garage was re-opened.
Today we learned: If you steal a car in Vegas, go straight to the chop-shop. Don’t try to press your luck at a casino.
