In this topical episode of the Vegas Bright podcast, I discuss every ounce of knowledge I could possibly give to a first-time Vegas visitor, and I get tipsy on StrongBow.

Subjects include:

  • Booking
  • Routes
  • Hotel Stay – prime location
  • Player’s Club Cards
  • Hydration
  • No Sex in The Champagne Room (I think)
  • The Strip vs Downtown
  • Where not to park (for safety reasons)
  • Taking it all in
  • Pacing yourself – Don’t Over Plan / Breaking Up the Day (Activities, Shows, Gambling)
  • Budgeting
  • Tipping
  • Taxis vs Uber/Lyft
  • Typical Taxi Rates (PDF)
  • What you don’t do this time, there’s always next time (sometimes)

I have a background in radio broadcasting (many, many, years ago) and love for all things Vegas. So, a podcast is a great way to combine two of my passions. The Vegas Bright Podcast is not a replacement for our website, just an extension of it. – Michael Movestro

  1. It is nothing for me to walk 6 – 10 miles a day on the strip. On getting around, I take the bus everywhere, $20 for a 3-day unlimited pass. Take the SDX over the Duece (double decker bus) as it makes less stops. This is how I also get downtown and back for the day. Otherwise it’s $2 for one time ride. You can get 2 hour pass or 24 hour pass also. I think $5 and $8. I will also take the free monorails.

  2. Going to pool parties or clubs make sure to buy your tickets head of time. Waiting in the non-ticket line will ruin your day club and or night club experience. Staying with a big group (5 or more) look into getting a suite. The price for two separate regular rooms will equal the price of one big suite. Gambler budget daily, put winnings into the next day or just keep them.

  3. With the new parking fees I may have to take the bus. It always looks so packed. The trains in NY are packed enough I cannot c myself waiting for the bus on VACA esp at the snails pace of vegas traffic

  4. The million dollars is @ Binions. I took a stray boots scavenger hunt and we have to find it and take a pic of it. That was my chance to see downtown. I never knew that there were 2 more free monorails besides the one at TI/Mirage. Amazing news. Thanks so much

  5. That strong bow def has you “lit” but in a good way. It was funny to hear you laugh at your own jokes. Great podcast once again. Hard to believe this is the 6th one.
