Hidden Vegas: Excalibur’s Horse Training Area
Excalibur’s horse training area, a bird’s eye view.
On a recent assignment capturing the goings-on of the Park/Arena/Theater, our photographer Batman Greg C captured a surprising image. An area normally unseen by most, Excalibur’s horse training area.
The horses play a significant role at Excalibur, as they are featured in the Tournament of Kings show (think Medieval Times).
Here’s what Greg C had to say about the discovery:
“There’s construction is going on across Tropicana Ave behind Excalibur where the new parking structure is supposed to go. I had never known about the horse zone back there—makes sense they would have an area outdoors so that it would not be necessary to truck the horses elsewhere for exercise constantly. If I had not been looking at the construction stuff, it would have been missed.”
That new parking structure is the one MGM is building as part of their plan to alleviate parking structures closer to the Arena.
It got mentioned in one of our previous articles, but may have been overlooked because of the bigger stand-out, paying for parking.
