Beauty and Essex: Restaurant, Lounge and…Pawn Shop
Beauty and Essex is coming to Cosmo.
A restaurant, lounge–and pawn shop–probably needs some explaining. Since this establishment hails from my hometown of NYC, I’ll do my best to explain. In NY, Beauty and Essex is a club-ish/restaurant/lounge more geared towards female clientele. Each room is designed like a jewelry box. The food is good. Celebrities like to pop in every once in a while. Also, a pawn shop is the only way in and out, so it’s kind of like a speakeasy. The pawn shop was originally more of a decor thing, made to disguise the lavish Beauty and Essex from sticking out like a sore thumb on Essex Street in Downtown Manhattan. Some time later, the owners hired a legit pawn chain to run the pawn section as a truly functioning pawn shop. So, when you consider the lounge guests pass through, often tipsy, sales go up.
The pawn shop element of Beauty and Essex might just make it into the Cosmo location as advertised in this promo sent in by paperposter.
Needless to say a pawn shop at Cosmo is interesting in itself, considering that it’s Cosmo, not Slots of Fun.

b & e is a verry hip and trendy nyc restaurnt/ kinda club for models / actors and the downtown crowd. normaly i would say it doesnt have a chance in hell in doing good but since stk is is rocking cosmo well b & e should do fine.
should be interesting as sls keeps failing with the same type of concept
I live in NY and have heard of this place. Never been of course but sent it to the girls and we have give it a whirl soon. Thanks for this.
