Carrot Top

Carrot Top: A Show and Tell with Liquor

For many years, when I made my regular trips to Vegas, Carrot Top was a show I would always pass over. I had seen him on TV and did not find his prop humor particularly funny.

I was guilty of prejudging his show, but boy was I wrong. The first time I saw his show in 2007, I was blown away. I went in expecting to be mildly amused and laughed like crazy the entire time. You will fall in love with his self-deprecating humor. That aspect of his personality never came across on TV; you have to see him in person to experience it. His delivery is wonderful; his energy contagious. I feel so alive just hanging out in his audience.

Hilarious props are not the entire show; Carrot Top also has stand-up comedy, music, strobe lights and sometimes bubbles or streamers flying out at the audience. The show moves so quickly that if you don’t find one thing funny, you are sure to laugh at the next one. My favorite part used to be the snow, but the last few times I have seen the show that hasn’t been in it. Probably some killjoy complained about getting their hair wet.

You will never be bored as he is always adding new jokes on current events to keep the show fresh. I try to get as close to the stage as possible, but even though I was in the second row one time, I have never succeeded in getting one of those shots of Crown Royal he gives out; maybe next time.

Every time someone asks me for Vegas show recommendations now I always put Carrot Top at the top of the list. If they have their doubts I just say “Go, you will have a great time. Thank me later.” You don’t survive for ten years on the Strip unless you are putting out an excellent product.

I have seen him so many times I have lost count, but I need to go again. I miss him, if that makes any sense. Someday I hope to find the funds to do his meet and greet.  It would be such a thrill to meet him.

I can safely say I am a Carrot Top convert now.

  1. I concur completely. I was also a skeptic, and only went under protest. Our entire group was very extremely entertained!

  2. You said it girl! I’m so glad that you are putting everything that I think, down in print these days, LOL. Congrats on the Meet and Greet opportunity! You might know that it’s the one time I haven’t been with you to see him in the recent past, hahaha.

  3. Remember seeing him on Comic Strip Live one Saturday night on TV as a kid and loved him since then. Husband not so much but this is not the first time I’ve heard amazing reviews. Vital Vegas did an article on his as well not too long ago.

  4. I hadn’t been to vegas in about 10 years when I went in 2012 I think it was and when I saw that he was part of the scenery I got a ticket to his show upon arrival. The following year I went back and saw him again and had a front and center seat in crown royalville. I’m hoping to catch him again this year and I will definitely do the meet and greet also. I can remember him being on starsearch and catching his act on the late night shows and always loved his comedy :)

  5. This is my all-time favorite show in Vegas! Have seen his show 6 times (so far), and did the M&G last year. Got lots of cool stuff, autographs, pictures with him, and he did a video shout-out to my daughter for her birthday. (I took her to see his show the previous year for 19th birthday, and it was her favorite part of our 4 day trip!) He is very gracious and genuine, and funny as heck!!!! Have sat in the first row for every show, and IMO it is the ONLY place to see this show from!!! Have been offered the shots of Crown each time, but not a drinker, so passed. However, I have caught 2 of his autographed CR mini-bottles, which look really nice on my dresser!

If you are still on the fence about seeing this show after reading this whole page, just bite the bullet and go see it! You would easily lose more in the machines during the length of the show than the cost of the tickets, so you really have absolutely NOTHING to lose!!!
