Anchor Bar, We Hardly Knew Ye
It is with a heavy heart and a healthy appetite that I inform you unless you’ve already heard, that Anchor Bar Las Vegas has closed up shop at the Venetian. The place that instantly became my go-to spot for wings is gone. Having just opened in June, and closing last Friday, it was a shockingly short run. Word around the internet is that the food was good (obviously) but a food court wasn’t the best location for it. It should have been its own restaurant, in my opinion, as opposed to being tucked into a food court.
This is the statement that was sent to Eater Vegas by Anchor Bar’s owners:
“Dear Loyal Customers,
Anchor Bar Las Vegas will close its doors in the Grand Canal Shoppes Food Court on Friday, February 19th to relocate.
Once we find the perfect new location, Anchor Bar Las Vegas is confident it will continue serving The Original Buffalo Chicken Wing to the Las Vegas Valley.”
Usually, the “looking for a new location” thing doesn’t always pan out. However, I am honestly hoping that they do find a new location, and soon. Even if it isn’t on the strip, seriously, I will take a freakin’ cab if I have to!

Awe man! I wanted to try that place when I’m there in June.
Oh well, maybe they’ll have a new location by then.
I hope so, it’s just…any time I’ve read or heard “we’ll be back at a new location” I’ve never seen it happen.
Agreed. Still waiting for Grind Burger Bar to open a new location after all these years.
Really?!?? Was wanting to try the place out on my trip in March…bummer.
Tear!! It was yummy. Had the boneless when my bro in law proposed to his fiancée. Don’t think it needs its whole stand alone restaurant though. I would agree it was pretty far to get to once in the Venetian. I think it would be good at the Linq promenade.
That could work! Or maybe a place at the NYNY.
Arent they looking for tenant’s for the shop’s in front of bally’s? It’s a busy location.
You couldn’t fit the Deep Fryer in those small ass shops! ha, still a good call though…..
