Vegas on Two Wheels: Vince Neil’s Tatuado

This week I took the Harley out to tempt the taste-buds once more to a rockin’ good bar and grill tucked away in a surprising place! This time, I kicked up my kickstand and burned rubber over to the Circus Circus Casino and chowed down at Vince Neils Tatuado!

The Casino is easy to get to on two wheels, and if you leave early enough, I would say to take the Las Vegas Blvd. Starting on the south end around New York New York and just head north! The lights of Las Vegas between dusk and night are incredible and being open to the elements; you send all of your sense into overdrive. But be prepared to a slow commute. It’s the Las Vegas Blvd., after all, and bumper to bumper traffic is common even on the slowest of days for the city.

Before getting into the feel of this place and the food, I wanted to start by saying I purchased a Groupon online for Vince Neils place. Two steak dinners and a bottle of red wine for $21! It was a deal I could not pass up even if the food wasn’t going to be great …but I’ll get to that in just a second.

Circus Circus is one of the oldest Casinos left on the main strip, and you can tell as soon as you lay eyes on it. Circus Circus was opened on October 18, 1968, by Jay Sarno, becoming the flagship casino for Circus Circus Enterprises.

At its opening, the $15 million facilities only included a casino. The lack of a hotel resulted in financial problems, as the casino was not able to attract high rollers. Sarno obtained a $23 million loan from the Teamsters Pension Fund to construct a hotel. In 1974, ownership changed with the sale of the casino to William Bennett and William Pennington for $25 million. The facility was expanded with hotel tower additions in 1972, 1980, 1985, 1986 and 1996. Unfortunately, the outside and inside feels like it got caught in 1980 and never shook loose.

To the back of the casino is Vince Neil’s place and by the looks of it, the Bar and grill was made for the biker crowd especially for the ones into the hair bands! You can’t miss Vince Neil’s place with a bare-bones chopper sitting outside the restaurant hahaha!

The inside is dark with rich reds and blacks coloring the walls along with memorabilia from the Hair Band days. Guitars, posters, costumes, and jewelry line the walls as def leopard plays across the restaurant.

A stage is set up for bands to play during the weekend or for Karaoke during the week.

I sat down and gave the waiter my Groupon. It was very easy; my waiter asked me how I would like my steak and if I preferred red or white wine. I went with red of course and also added a few appetizers to my order. The wine came out fast and yes it was a whole bottle of red wine…cheap red wine but a whole bottle none-the-less!

About ten mins later, the apps came out! Nothing fancy just some chips and guacamole and Mozzarella Sticks but I was a little disappointed. It was very obvious that the Mozzarella sticks were of the frozen variety, and they weren’t cooked to ooey-gooey standards. The Guacamole was a store bought bag for sure and was not fresh. But being that the prices for both of these appetizers were not overpriced, it went down easy.

Just finishing up the sticks, the main entree came out, and I must say I was extremely surprised! The steaks were perfectly cooked!

They were grade A USDA beef and flavored with only a little salt, pepper, and the smokiness of the grill. The size you ask? Well, only 8oz but with the fries, veggies and the apps it was a solid meal!

With a beer in my hand and my boots kicked up on the seat next to me, I relaxed and listened to the house band rock the stage. You know, for the price of the menu and the whole ambiance of the place plus the fact you can get some killer Groupon deals for the restaurant, it’s a great stop for a decent and filling lunch or drink! Would I make this a permanent stop? Naaaa, but if I were on that side of town and need to grab something to eat, I would head in for a bite for sure!

  1. USDA Grade A steak…yum…was it a 14oz NY Strip? Also they have a menu item:
    Krispy Kreme Burger
    14.99

Our classic burger with American cheese, bacon, lettuce and tomato, sandwiched between a sliced Krispy Kreme doughnut.

and a Hanging Toilet for $25. Have seen these on the Strip worn by people who will not remember a thing for at least 2 days.

  2. Not a rider, but enjoy a bit of biker culture and lot of Vegas news — so of course I love your articles, too, Greg! Thanks for these reviews.
