Bourbon Room Extended, But, RIO Rumor Debunked
The Bourbon Room will be around for a little while longer, exactly how long is uncertain.
Their FaceBook page has already been shut down. The venue was supposed to close February 8th but was extended as the Venetian doesn’t have anything lined up for the space. “Marvelless” (yes, that’s how he spells it) Mark, who emcee’d the evenings at Bourbon Room, and owned its Facebook page has already moved on to a new opportunity in his motivational speaking career.
There were rumors that the 80’s rock-lovin’-lounge would move to the RIO, and, unfortunately, that’s not the case.
I spoke with a staff member from the Bourbon Room, who helped clarify things.
“The Bourbon Room is owned by the Venetian. Any chance of it moving to the RIO is just a rumor, and we get asked that a lot. The RIO would have to finance the new location, and The Venetian would have to agree to licensing it. So I wish it wasn’t a rumor, but that is all it is. We’ll be around until April, maybe May.”
He didn’t seem optimistic but said he would be onboard if the Bourbon Room does get a new location. I mentioned how in a Bourbon Room Facebook post in October, it said to follow Marks’ twitter and facebook for the new location.
The rep said, “yeah…there isn’t a new location.”
Well, I guess Marvelless got himself a bunch of Facebook/Twitter follows for…no actual new location.
As far as the future of the current Venetian space? It’ll be re-themed and renovated and become something entirely new.
