Go-Karting With The Rich and Famous…For Charity

Leave it to comedic magician Mike Hammer to turn fundraising events on their ear. The longtime (and slightly crazy) Four Queens headliner, fresh off of hosting duties for Drop The Mic, has just announced his own charity function. But instead of a traditional pop-up show, Hammer invites guests to race celebrities on a go-kart track!

“Mike Hammer’s Celebrity Go-Kart Race” launches out of the starting gate on Sunday, December 27th. Mike will be bringing a Santa sack full of whacked-out entertainers and familiar faces, including “Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous” host Robin Leach. “The Leach”, who resides in Vegas, now writes an entertainment column for Las Vegas Sun.

Robin Leach gets “HAPPY” with Mike Hammer at “Drop The Mic”

Having attended the recent Drop The Mic fundraiser for Noah’s Animal House, I can tell you that Robin is anything but the stuffed shirt you might expect. Years of champagne wishes and caviar dreams might have added a few pounds to his frame, but the ever-dignified Leach knows how to cut a rug…and belt out a tune in true Britney Spears fashion. Seeing the 74-year-old Brit wearing racing goggles on a go-kart track should make for some interesting photo-ops.

Along with Mr. Leach, Hammer will be sharing the raceway with magicians Lance Burton and Murray Sawchuck (a perennial guest on Pawn Stars), entertainer Clint Holmes, fellow Four Queens headliner Steve Connolly (Spirit of the King), comedy hypnotists Marc Savard and Anthony Cools and many more, some yet to be announced.

Proceeds for Mike Hammer’s Celebrity Go-Kart Race will benefit Serving Hope LV, a grassroots effort to feed and clothe the homeless of Las Vegas. The race is free to attend, but donations are encouraged. For a $25 donation, you can do ten laps around the course.  The more adventurous fans and thrill-seekers are invited to race with the celebrities…for a $100.00 entry donation.
