Vegas Thanksgiving – A Cornucopia Of Memories For The Making

Many of us here at VegasBright have collected a wonderful assortment of holiday memories. Romantic Valentine’s Day dinners. Tipsy New Year toasts. Christmas card photos at the Bellagio Conservatory. And Thanksgiving dinner at Jose Andre’s Bazaar Meat inside SLS Las Vegas.

Wait, that last one isn’t part of your holiday traditions? It certainly can be. Las Vegas rolls out the autumn-colored carpet to Thanksgiving revelers with aplomb, and there’s no limit to the ways you can experience the annual holiday…while sneaking in a few peeks at all the upcoming Christmas decorations, if you’re lucky.

We’ll fill you in on the activities and dining ideas the hotels and restaurants of Vegas are rolling out to enhance your Thanksgiving experience..and hopefully create some wonderful new holiday memories along the way. Bon appetit!

Bazaar Meat at SLS is indeed offering a special Prix-Fix menu on Thanksgiving Day. Prices are $85 (ten-dollar discount for locals) with reservations being accepted from 5 pm through 9 pm. Regular menu will also be available. Reservations can be made at 702-761-7610

Chef Emeril Lagasse’s Table 10 at Palazzo will be serving Thanksgiving guests from 11 am-10 pm. Traditional holiday dinner with organic turkey is $42 per person, plus a roasted butternut squash soup starter for an additional $10. Call 702-607-6363 for reservations.

Nearby Delmonico Steakhouse at Venetian shifts its focus from steak to poultry on the Big Day, too. They’re offering a dinner with roasted breast and braised leg/thigh combo, also for $42. You can top it off with a “pumpkin trio” dessert for an additional $12. Delmonico Steakhouse will be serving dinner from 3 pm through 9 pm, and their reservation hotline is 702-414-3737.

PBR Rock Bar and Grill inside Planet Hollywood’s Miracle Mile Shops will be giving a honky-tonk country spin on the holiday.  A house-smoked turkey dinner with fixings is only $19.99. You can test your skills at mechanical bull-riding before ordering dessert. They have 105 hi-def screens to watch your favorite game.  If you stop into PBR the next day with a Black Friday purchase receipt from any Miracle Mile Shop, you’ll also receive 10 percent off any food/drink purchase.  Call 702-750-1685 for more info or to make reservations.

Rockhouse at Grand Canal Shoppes (Venetian again) is flying their freak flag on Thanksgiving, offering Turkey Dogs topped with stuffing, cranberry ketchup and gravy for $6.95. Add Sweet Potato Tater Tots ($4.95) or Mac ‘n Cheese Bites ($6.95). Rockhouse also has Pro Football Watch Party deals to enjoy the games on their 80 hi-def screens. Packages include guaranteed seating, all-day open bar and an appetizer for a set price. Rockhouse is 9,000 square feet of fun and has balcony views of the Strip.  Call 702-731-9683 for updated information and reservations.

Further south on the Strip, d.vino Italian Food and Wine Bar at Monte Carlo has an awesome three-course deal with soup, lavish turkey dinner and dessert for only $29.00 for adults, $12.00 for kids 3-9, and free for little ones under three. They’ll be open 4-10:30 and are taking reservations at 702-730-7966.

Those who enjoy meatless meals have no reason to feel left out. There are many vegan and vegetarian restaurants in the Las Vegas Valley to make your holiday special. Downtown’s instant hotspot VeGeNATION will have their first “Eat To Give” Thanksgiving dinner from noon til five. Proceeds will benefit Green Our Planet and their school garden program. Tickets are $50 for adults and $30 for 12 and under. They can be ordered online by following this link. For more vegan and vegetarian options, I recommend contacting the good folks from Las Vegan Eatz at 702-239-6636.

If you’re a local–or plan on serving dinner inside your hotel suite–Chef Johnny Church, who launched such a terrific menu at Downtown’s MTO Cafe, can prepare a full meal for your group. Church recently told me all about his newest creations as Executive Chef and partner at Artisanal Foods.

Johnny has put together a full meal that starts off with escarole and goat cheese salad, chestnut and Kobacha squash bisque, organic turkey served with Farra Cavatelli pasta, cream spinach, sweet potatoes with almonds, additional gourmet sides alongside pumpkin pie topped with Chantilly Cream. The entire dinner for eight is only $195.00 and will be ready for pick-up by 10 am on Thanksgiving Day. Drop-off can be arranged between 9 am and 11 am for an additional $50. Pre-orders can be made at 702 436-4252.

The hands-down winner for most clever Thanksgiving idea has to go to The Golden Tiki. Branden Powers and his staff will be offering Thanksgiving dinner “Charlie Brown style”, one day early on Wednesday the 25th. Get ready for buttered toast, popcorn, pretzel sticks and jelly beans served in Frisbees on a ping pong table, just like Chuck and the gang did in “A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving”.

Patrons who wear Pilgrim, Native American or Peanuts costumes that evening will get free booze, and everyone can enjoy Vince Guaraldi’s classic Peanuts tunes performed by “The Sharps”. Golden Tiki is located at 3939 Spring Mtn. Road.

No matter where you go or what you do for Thanksgiving, the team at VegasBright wishes you a wonderful holiday season. And we’re glad that you’ve welcomed us into your family.
