Update: MGM The Park Between NYNY and Monte Carlo

Remember the Park project? Envisioned by MGM, the space between NYNY and Monte Carlo is being transformed into an open-air dining and entertainment district. Being touted as MGM The Park, it will provide a promenade of things to do while going to or coming from the AEG Arena, which is also being constructed.

Greg C sent us these recent photos of the progress at The Park:

Here’s what the MGM Chairman and CEO had to say at the start of MGM The Park:

“Beautiful public places are highlights of many of the world’s finest cities, and Las Vegas shouldn’t be the exception. The Park will be the first of its kind on the Las Vegas Strip and is an embodiment of MGM Resorts’ commitment to engaging guests through arts and innovation. To create this picturesque outdoor destination, we are literally taking down the walls and opening the doors at our resorts to develop a unique dining and entertainment district that complements its lush new surroundings.” -Jim Murren, Chairman and CEO of MGM Resorts International

Slated for a synchronized opening date with AEG Arena in 2016, here’s the 3D rendering of what they think it will look like (you know how plans always change in Vegas):

  1. I love to c new up and coming things to vegas. it’s gonna look great like the linq even if they do add a walgreens etc. hopefully its open before august

  2. Monte Carlo’s getting a new theater so that side should look much different than the plans. Good render pictures of that side are here:

I think if they’d fix the smallish windows in the rooms and get the HVAC in the casino working correctly it would warrant a much better feel (I don’t know it just seems smoky and stuffy in there for some reason…an almost Fremont Street casino feel).
