Getting to Know: New Writer, Cathy Vo

“Getting to Know” is our series where we introduce new writers, contributors and familiar plus noteworthy Vegas residents to Vegas Bright. Today we introduce new contributing writer Cathy Vo. A Las Vegas Resident, Cathy is happy to be here at Vegas Bright. We all look forward to her future words and works. For now, we turn things over to Cathy Vo.

Vegas Resident or Visitor:
Resident

Hobbies/Interests:
Love to read, learn to cook new recipes, be outdoors such as hiking and exploring all that Las Vegas has to offer. I like to lounge on the couch with a glass of wine watching Netflix.

Do we know you from somewhere?
No, which is probably a good thing :)

What kind of topics would you write about?
Anything fun: entertainment, arts and culture, food and beverage.

Gamble much?
Occasionally, and when I do, I play Craps!

Club much?
Only when my friends are in town.

See shows much?
I have been lucky enough to have seen a lot of shows here in Vegas, and I intend to keep going until I have seen them all at least once.

Wine and Dine much?
I have a bucket list of places to try while here in Vegas. I still have a long ways to go.

Spa much?
Wish I could do it more often!

Favorite Things:
People watching on The Strip, that’s for sure! Hanging out with friends downtown and having a tasty cocktail.

Favorite Hotel/Casino:
Wynn/Encore

Favorite dining spot:
I can’t name one, there are so many!

Favorite eating spot (we feel there’s a difference between eating and dining)?
Again, there are so many places that I can’t name a favorite!

Favorite drinking spot?
Griffin

Favorite off-the-strip spot?
I love Downtown Summerlin and Townsquare.

Favorite Downtown spot?
Container Park

Favorite Club?
XS

Things in Vegas you WON’T do again:
Stay out until 7 am!

Things in Vegas you WOULD do again:
Hang out at the pools.

Favorite Vegas memory:
An item I got to check off on my bucket list! I was the lucky dice roller at a craps table for like an hour, winning people money left and right. They even gave me some of their chips because I won them so much. Then when I “crapped” out, they applauded for me when I left the table. That was a lot of fun!

That thing you mean to do in Vegas but never get around to?
Go Ziplining downtown.

That thing you have to do every time (your Vegas traditions)?
Sadly, I don’t have a Vegas tradition, but I need one!
