New Construction at Aria: Lounge, VIP Check-In for Sky Suites, Other Updates

Recently there has been some buzz about the closed off portions at Aria. When construction walls go up, we tend to notice.

Since early March, construction walls have popped up around Aria’s first level. Recently while taking in the sights, Bob Z saw some construction walls in the lobby.

Bob Z informed us:

Aria has cleared out at least 1/3 of the slots that were there in March (on the valet pickup side). The third of the slot floor at the front desk end of the casino has a huge, black wall constructed. I was amazed at the amount of space that was taken. I spoke to a dealer who told me that it’s was going to be VIP checkin for the Sky Suites and it will include a lounge. For perspective, it’s to the left (opposite of the Lobby Bar) if your back is the front desk and you are facing the casino.

@paperposter also informed us:

Aria’s new VIP check-in and lounge, similar to Caesars diamond lounge, will open by their front check-in sometime in November. It will be both a check-in, and a lounge to relax in.

The changes aren’t just stopping there. Back in January, Hakkasan snatched up previous properties owned by the Light Group when they purchased 90% of Morgan Hotel’s stake in The Light Group. Since then Hakkasan has made quick work of transforming former Light Group assets. Renovations have been under way to transform two of Aria’s old Light Group features, The Deuce Lounge (presently getting a $1 million make-over) and the Gold Boutique Nightclub and Lounge.

@paperposter continues:

Two new restaurants are opening on the second-floor. One will take the place of the old Gold Boutique. The Duece Lounge will reopen in the next couple of months as a regular lounge. Haze will reopen early next year with a new name, as a new smaller boutique club. Sounds to me that it may be similar to what Hyde is.
As Hakkasan continues its aggressive expansion of Vegas nightlife, I can only wonder if new management will bring in the big bucks. As I say: when it comes to Vegas, only time will tell.
