Beacher’s Madhouse Venue Renovating for Jabbawockeez…Beacherwockeez?

With Jabbawockeez move to MGM Grand (because of Blue Man Group moving to Luxor)–due to the Blue Man Theater at Monte Carlo being torn down–construction walls are going up again (because, Vegas).

The Beacher’s Madhouse space at MGM Grand is being refitted to house the Jabbawockeez. This news was first reported back in July, but now, construction walls are up.

Our tipster @paperposter tells us the Beacher’s Madhouse venue will host both: The Beacher’s Madhouse Show and Jabbawockeez. Going forward, I am referring to the new combined site as ‘Beacherwockeez Theater’. Pape also tells us the new Beacherwockeez Theater (see, I’m committing to it) will also be a multi-purpose theater that will play host to intimate concerts. A visit to the Beacher’s Madhouse (show) website shows a re-opening date of October 10th with shows every Saturday night.

The Jabbawockeez move to the Beacher’s venue means renovations are in progress to allow more versatility for different seating configurations. Beacher’s typically had a seating capacity of 230 configured with tables and booths. No matter the scope of the Beacher’s interior re-do, one thing is sure: the Wockeez will see a much smaller audience in comparison to their former 830 seat theater.

mo_00005_bmhrBeacher’s will still have its stage shows Saturday nights at 10:30 pm. So far, no word on how the new seating would affect those shows. It would be in Beacher’s best interest to have more seating, considering their performance schedule is going down from two shows a week to one. Perhaps a more interesting tidbit is that Beacher’s Madhouse (the show) started with five shows a week, then four, then two, and beginning in October, one. While Beacher’s shows have dwindled down over time in Las Vegas, they are still going strong at their Los Angeles venue at the Roosevelt Hotel.

The Jabbawockeez plan to make up for the lower seating by adding more performances with two shows a night for five nights a week.

Beacherwockeez is my new favorite word.
