Trip Report: Blonde4ever’s Perfect Halloween 2016 Trip – Part 6
Blonde4ever shares Part 6 of her October 2016 Trip Report
It is another glorious morning in Vegas and, as always, I feel like the trip is going too fast. Vegas is the one place where I wish time would slow down to a crawl.
This morning I had tentative plans to meet Joey, one of the owners of the board SlotFanatics.com. I have chatted with Joey and his co-owner Debbie many times over the years but we had never met in person. This was my chance to meet half of that great team.
I exchanged a few texts with Joey to see if we were still on and we decided to meet around 11 am in the Plaza lobby. I had a fifteen dollar comp at Du-pars at the Golden Gate Hotel so Kodi and I went over there for breakfast before Joey arrived. Little did I know I that I would be stepping into that restaurant for the last time; it closed shortly thereafter. I enjoyed their incredible pancakes again and Kodi had bacon for her meal.
Joey arrived right on time and we sat in the Plaza lobby and we discussed the ins and outs of running forums for several hours. He is such a great guy and it was lovely to finally meet him.
Joey loves playing the older, vintage machines downtown so after we split up he went to do that and Kodi and I went to give the Plaza casino some play. I played all afternoon on a Buffalo Gold machine that was being cooperative with me. I only spent a hundred dollars so I was pleased that I got to have fun for such a long time on that amount of money.
Around 5 pm Kodi and I were getting hungry so we walked down to the D because we both had food comps to use. We asked if they could squeeze us into Andiamos between 5 and 6 pm and happily, they could. This was my third time eating there and as usual, the food was amazing. I had lobster bisque and cedar plank salmon and Kodi had a steak.
After eating we both played on some Freeplay we were given but it didn’t last too long.
During our wandering of Fremont street, I came up with an idea for an article for Vegas Bright. I decided I was going to challenge myself to walk up to all the costumed (and semi-naked) street characters and chat with them a bit and have a picture taken with them. Kodi agreed to be my photographer for this project. In doing this I discovered that these people really weren’t all that intimidating and I actually enjoyed posing with them. And it made for some fabulous pictures! The complete story is here.
When I am in Vegas every now and then someone will walk up to me and say “Aren’t you Blonde?” and I respond “Why yes, I am.” They aren’t referring to my hair colour, even though that is mainly blonde as well, they are referring to my screen name, Blonde4ever. I am honoured when someone recognizes me and tells me that they enjoy my writing at Vegas Bright or that they lurk at my LasVegas4ever.com forum. I love meeting all the readers out there in the Vegas-loving world so if you see me, be sure and say hi!
We meandered back down to the Plaza around 9 pm and started playing Video Poker side by side. I was thrilled to get almost back to back deuces on a Bonus Deuces machine. That meant an extra $500 in my pocket and more money to play with the next day. Thank you, Plaza!!!
I also always enjoy listening to the band Wonder Boogie that performs at The Plaza on weekend nights. If I listen to enough disco I can convince myself that I am 20 years old again; that is until I go to get up and everything hurts!
To Be Continued Next Week……
