Back to the Future

It’s Back to the Future Day (again) at the Plaza Hotel on Oct. 21st

A Nostalgic celebration at the Site of Biff Tannen’s Pleasure Palace

The folks at the Plaza Hotel and Casino had such a good time last year with Back to the Future Day that they’re doing it again this Friday. Celebrating both the film and the one year anniversary of Back to The Future day, festivities will begin at 3 pm under the Plaza’s dome. There will be various Deloreans for photo ops, while the Back to the Future Trilogy plays on screens at Beer Garden.

From the press release:

Under the dome, guests can go back in time with a modern take on the root beer float with Biff’s Root Beer Beer Float made with a scoop of vanilla ice cream suspended in root beer beer.  The first 100 guests to buy a drink under the dome will receive $10 match play coupons. Two other drink specials will be available under the dome, at all casino bars and in the Beer Garden: Doc’s Wake Up Juice (vodka and Red Bull) and Marty’s Cherry Pepsi (Jack Daniel’s whiskey, Pepsi and cherry juice).

Guests are encouraged to come to the party dressed in their best ‘80s outfits or as their favorite “Back to the Future” character. A special costume contest will be held at 8 p.m., with winners for the best ‘80s outfit and the best movie costume each winning $250

There will also be 80’s music playing all day with Wonder Boogie transforming into an 80’s hair band for the night with a 9:30 pm performance at Omaha Lounge. Plus there’s a Time Machine Special at Oscar’s Steakhouse. Look-alikes of Biff, Doc, and Marty will also be available for photo ops.

Back to the Future

Hundreds attended last year’s event, and the Plaza is looking to recapture some of that movie magic nostalgia.

  1. Darn, I so want to go! Hopefully my middle-aged sci-fi cohorts and I will celebrate a mid-life bachelor party out there soon, and will show up in costumes whether there is a BTTF party or not.
