A Walk Through MGM’s The Park

What you’ll find on a stroll through MGM’s The Park Las Vegas…

As much as I may express dismay with the parking fees at MGM properties, I’m not too bitter to acknowledge when they do something awesome. Created as a response to LINQ Promenade, MGM’s The Park opened in April. Now that we won’t get lost in a sea of everyone who reported The Park’s opening. Here’s my take.

Upon entering The Park from the strip, you are greeted by water features, “water walls”, I call them. The illuminated walls, stones, and water create a serene and “cooling” feeling. If you stand between two water walls, it provides relief from the heat; you should try it!

There’s also new places to eat and drink.

Bruxie – from their website: “Light, Crispy, Waffle instead of Bread, Crazy Delicious Sandwiches.” Bruxie is open until 12 am.

The Park

Beerhaus – from their website: “A fresh take on the classic beer hall, where an artfully curated menu ensures both beer nerds and casual drinkers will find their favorites. The kitchen rounds out the experience with savory sausages, sandwiches and snacks all made with hormone-free meat and locally sourced produce. Grab a cold brew, play some bar games and make some friends on the outdoor patio.” Beerhaus hours: Sunday thru Thursday  11:00 AM – 1:00 AM / Friday & Saturday 11:00 AM – 3:00 AM

The Park

Sake Rok – from their website: “Inspired by Japan’s vibrant pop culture, servers doubling as entertainers invite guests to partake in restaurant-wide camaraderie. Expect the unexpected, including restaurant-wide sake bombs, impromptu dance parties and lip-sync serenades.” Sake Rok’s hours: Mon – Thu: 12:00 PM – 10:00 PM / Fri – Sun 11:00 AM – 3:00 AM

The Park

California Pizza Kitchen – from their website “the authority in creative dining with a California vibe. Blending fresh, seasonal ingredients with bold, global inspiration, “CPK” offers signature hand-tossed, hearth-baked pizzas, inventive main plates and shareable, unique kinds of pasta and salads, alongside premium wines, craft beers and hand-crafted cocktails featuring fresh fruits, herbs, and spices.” California Pizza Kitchen’s hours: Mon thru Thu 10:30 AM – 12:00 AM | Fri thru Sat 10:30 AM – 2:00 AM | Sun 11:00 AM – 2:00 AM

You’ll also find cornhole, Connect Four, and various other games for enjoyment. I was disappointed to find there was no Chutes & Ladders representation. There is also entertainment, not street-performers per say, but paid entertainment there to entertain. It could be a string section, dancers, singers, all immensely talented–these are not your typical street buskers, no Spiderman here.

As you walk further into the Park, you’ll see the Bliss Dance structure.

The Park

The Bliss Dance has a remarkable light show, in all different colors and patterns. Bliss is something to add, definitely, to your free attractions list. Also, the shadow structures light up at night in various colors as well. There are different sets of these structures placed throughout the park. There’s also really good signage.

The Park

At the end of the Park is Toshiba Plaza and the T-Mobile Arena (sources confirmed that it still has that “new arena smell” since last I visited on opening day.

I’d say The Park isn’t better than LINQ Promenade but different.

The Park is a charming outdoor companion to The LINQ. They each offer different experiences in an entertaining and surreal environment.

  1. It’s crazy and I’d imagine this is all great….but I’m pretty sure there aren’t enough tourists in the world to fill all this stuff. From the new hotels coming to the strip (well, maybe) to the new restaurants and shopping centers. It’s a wonder how any stay in business!

    1. Do a search for Vegas By The Numbers, I think it’s a feature on the LVCVA site, loads of good tourist info there. Last year Las Vegas had 42,312,216 visitors.

  2. I’m really impressed with this place. It looks great. That lady still freaks me out though.
